Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

Elitebook 2730p

I bought the oldlaptop from someone, and later noticed the battery was draining fast. It will be at 100% , with some minutes, it down to 80,then 60 and suddenly it goes off. Sometimes at 70%, it indicates it will last up to 3hrs but suddenly it shows sometimes 59minuts,40minutes, eventually it goes off.

Now I bought a new battery and had charged it for over 8hrs but the highest percentage is 82. I remember it took about 5hrs to charge from 79 to 82% after many hrs of charging. I observed that it can't charge beyond 81,82%.

The new battery is still fast draining like the old one, only that it doesn't go off at 60% , but I will personally short down the system at 23%.

So what do do?

@Akong1

Sorry to say this, but there is probably nothing you can do.

Just like batteries wear out over time, chargers and charging circuits wear out too.

If a new batter will not charge to nearly 100%, that is probably the charging circuit in the laptop and there is nothing you can do to fix that.

But if I insert back the old battery, it charges to 100% , only that it doesn't last

Could it be from the driver??. Someone had eliear suggest I should remove the new battery and then uninstall the driver. Please could this be helpful ???. I haven't done that yet
