Hi Experts,

I am facing a problem related to the battery of my notebook. The battery is not charging above 7% and always have status "not charging" in the battery icon. The laptop is powered only on AC power and gets shut down Immediately on removing AC power.

I have tried battery testing with HP diagnostic tool and it says condition as OK and passed.

Some days back I had observed that battery was not charging above 85%. Also, I observed since the last one month that the battery used to discharged when the laptop used to be shut down. This time I didn't use laptop for around a week to saw battery was fully discharged and also was not able to re-charge since then.

The simple pass fail "OK" battery test is like the idiot light on the dashboard of the car: a poor substitute for actual diagnostics. The advanced test results (thanks for posting) tell a different story. The battery is old (997 days) and tired (down to 80% maximum capacity from when it was new) and weak (reduced terminal voltage). Time for a new battery. We can help you find one in the marketplace if you wish.
