Hi

The battery of my laptop has not been retaining it's charge even though it has been put in charge. It constantly remains zero charge but can still be used if it is plugged in. Every other feature of the laptop is working perfectly fine but the battery is not accumulating any charge. This stops me from working on the laptop without any outlets nearby. I have tried running a diagnostics test on the battery but every time I have attempted it the test comes back as failed. Is there something wrong with the Laptops hardware or do I just need to replace the battery?

If could be that the battery has reached the end of its service life if you have been using it for a few years.

Have you tried running the Windows Battery Test report utility? Check the number of cycles.

Replacement would be the best route to go to return the laptop to mobile service condition.
