Hi,
I noticed today that my battery charge on my HP Pavillion Gaming Laptop 15 ec1xxx is stuck at 38% despite charging for hours. I tried turning my computer on and off for two hours, but the issue was still there. I tried connecting to other outlets but this changed nothing. I then left my computer without charging and the charge somehow did not drop, and stayed at 38% even though no power was being supplied for a long while. Normally my charge drops quickly when I am not charging. I checked my battery history and the charge seems to have been constantly at 38% the past 24hours and more, despite the power cable being connected during most of that time.
I am wondering if there is some kind of software malfunction, because the battery is not dropping even when I am using the computer without charging it? Or is it some kind of hardware malfunction where the battery cannot communicate properly?

You must test the battery, when you turn on the device press repeatedly the F2 key, enter the diagnostics there select the battery, see if it is approved or there is a failure ID.
