Hi @Dovring,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the Bluetooth functionality on your HP OMEN Laptop - 17 disappeared after upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 and doesn’t appear in the hardware list, it might be due to missing or incompatible drivers. Here's how you can troubleshoot and fix this issue.
Verify Bluetooth in Device Manager
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Look for Bluetooth in the list. If it’s missing:
- Expand Network Adapters to check if a Bluetooth device is listed there.
- Check if there are any "Unknown devices" or items with a yellow exclamation mark.
Run Bluetooth Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Find Bluetooth and click Run.
Enable Bluetooth in BIOS
- Since your Bluetooth checked out fine in the BIOS test:
- Restart the laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI by pressing F10 (or the key specified for your system).
- Check for a Bluetooth or Wireless Communication setting to ensure it’s enabled.
Update Drivers
- From HP Support:
- Visit the HP Support website and search for your laptop's model.
- Download and install the latest Bluetooth drivers for Windows 11.
- From Windows Update:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Check for updates and install any optional updates for drivers.
- From Device Manager:
- In Device Manager, right-click on your Bluetooth device or network adapter, and select Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software.
Enable Hidden Devices
- In Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices.
- Check if Bluetooth appears in the list, and enable or update the driver if necessary.

Reinstall the Bluetooth Driver
- If Bluetooth appears in Device Manager:
- Right-click the Bluetooth driver and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop; Windows will attempt to reinstall the default driver.
- If it doesn’t reinstall automatically, use the driver from HP Support.
Reset Network Settings
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings.
- Click Network reset and follow the prompts. Restart your laptop afterward.
Check Windows Services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Ensure the following services are running:
- Bluetooth Support Service
- Device Association Service
- If not, right-click and select Start.
Perform a Windows Repair Installation
If all else fails, perform a repair installation of Windows 11 to fix system file corruption without losing your data:
- Download the Windows 11 Installation Media.
- Choose Upgrade this PC now and follow the prompts.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
