My Elitebook is about 1 month old and I have noticed that the screen seems unaligned. There are a couple of problems probably related to each other. The right side of the lid when closed has a gap of around 1mm or less. Light can be seen through it. When touching this side, the lid bounces. The lid also is shifted more towards the right, reaching the edge of the base whereas on the left side, the lid is clearly seen to be within.
The left side of the hinge, connecting the base of the laptop and the screen, is shifted more towards the right of the base. The hinge is also a bit elevated to the left, making a noticable bulge when looked at.
From the backside of the laptop, one can see that the hinge is clearly sticking out on the left.
--------------
I always use a laptop cover when put in my backpack. In my backpack, I use padding to keep the laptop safe in addition to the cover. I also make sure that the pressure distribution is equal throughout the laptop. I seldom bring my laptop with my backpack. I have 3 years warranty.
I apologize for the rotated images.

Anyone?
Another issue I have is that the black screen panel at the bottom left (near Hp symbol) is not fit tightly. When I press it, it Bounces. Is it possible to make it tight?
------------
Frankly never going to buy another HP product after this. It's an expensive laptop and doesn't give a good impression when the hinges aren't aligned properly which makes the screen shut unevenly. In addition, the screen panel isn't even fit tightly.
