I was thinking that if you are not in a position to buy a new PC, before putting any money into it you should take it to a PC repair shop and get a professional opinion of what the problem is.
Then you can decide how to proceed based on the estimate to repair the problem.
If it is not the graphics chip on the motherboard, then you wasted a lot of money for nothing.
Maybe it is something else.
You may want to even try to reinstall Windows to see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks. I'm just gonna bite the bullet and get a new one. Computers have just become to important in our live to not have one that works properly. This one is 6 yrs old. Time to upgrade.
