Well, earlier I was moving some folders with some pictures and deleting old documents. Then, I noticed my computer was making a static sound. I'm not sure what it is but I'm thinking it might have something to do with my CPU/CPU fan. If you have any more info as to how to fix this I would appreciate it. My system also went to the blue screen when I tried starting it up after I powered it down. It is running, but I am a college student and cannot have this failing me.

I'm sorry, but without a way to observe your PC in person, which we can not do from here, we have no way to tell you what a particular noise means in terms of suspected issues.
When a fan starts to fail, that means the bearings are going, so that usually presents with a buzzing or rattling sound that gets louder or quieter as your run more demanding applications. That sound can also change when you pick up the laptop and tilt it forward, backward, or sideways because that changes the balance of the fan.
Simple static is often a problem with the audio drivers -- so if the sound is ON, then shut it OFF and see if the static continues.
Sorry, but we are not able, or permitted, to provide any repair estimates or equipment prices.
For this information, you would need to contact an HP Repair or Service Center.
