Hi @FelipeFaundes,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion 15.6 Inch Laptop's screen turns off suddenly but the keyboard lights are still on, it could indicate an issue with the display or the graphics drivers. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.
- Check for power-related issues: Ensure that your laptop is connected to a power source and that the battery is not critically low. Try plugging in the charger or using a different power outlet to rule out any power supply problems.
- Adjust display settings: Press the brightness function key (usually represented by a sun icon) on your keyboard to increase the brightness level. It's possible that the screen brightness was inadvertently set to its lowest level, making it appear as if the screen has turned off.
- Toggle display modes: Press the Windows key + P on your keyboard to bring up the display options menu. Cycle through the available options, such as "PC screen only," "Duplicate," "Extend," or "Second screen only." This will help determine if the laptop's display is being redirected or turned off.
- Update graphics drivers: Outdated or faulty graphics drivers can cause display issues. Visit the official HP support website or use the HP Support Assistant software to check for any available driver updates for your laptop. Download and install the latest drivers if necessary.
- Perform a hard reset: Shut down your laptop, unplug the power adapter, and remove the battery (if it's removable). Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power. Reinsert the battery (if applicable) and plug in the power adapter. Power on the laptop to check if the display functions properly.
- Connect to an external display: If possible, connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI or VGA cable. If the external display works fine, it indicates a potential issue with the laptop's built-in display, such as a loose connection or a faulty component.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
