@Mahak_, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that your HP laptop screen is frozen, the cursor is stuck, and none of the keys are responding. Let's work through a few steps to help resolve this issue.

Perform a Hard Reset

This helps clear any temporary hardware or software glitches.

For laptops with removable battery:

  1. Power off the laptop.
  2. Disconnect the power adapter.
  3. Remove the battery.
  4. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  5. Reinsert the battery and reconnect the power adapter.
  6. Power on the laptop.

For laptops with non-removable battery:

  1. Power off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds until the laptop shuts down completely.
  3. Wait a few seconds, then press the Power button again to restart.

Boot into Safe Mode

If the system starts but remains unresponsive, try booting into Safe Mode:

  1. Power off the laptop.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press the F8 key repeatedly (or Shift + F8 on some models) until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears.
  3. Select Safe Mode with Networking.
  4. If the system boots successfully, you may have a driver or software conflict.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

To check for hardware issues:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it back on and immediately press Esc, then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  3. Run the System Test or Component Tests (especially for memory and hard drive).

External Mouse/Keyboard Test

Try connecting an external USB mouse or keyboard to see if the system responds. If it does, the issue may be with the built-in touchpad or keyboard.

System Restore (if accessible)

If the system becomes responsive:

  1. Search for System Restore in the Start menu.
  2. Choose a restore point from before the issue started.
  3. Follow the prompts to restore your system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
