Hello, I just bought my device for studying, but I also want to play some light games like hollow knight. However, I'm worried about the battery lifespan because I enjoy playing games a lot—around 7 to 10 hours a day. Since the performance is at its best when the charger is plugged in, I'm afraid the battery might get damaged. It's still new, after all. Should I play games or avoid them, even though the game is relatively light? I’d like your opinion on how to keep the battery healthy for the next 5 years.

@5CD3338FVV, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
First off, it's great to hear you're enjoying your new HP Laptop! The HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 is designed to be a reliable device for both studying and light gaming like Hollow Knight, so it should be able to handle those tasks without issue. However, I understand your concerns about battery health, especially if you're playing games for several hours a day.
Battery Health:
Playing games for 7-10 hours a day will use more battery and can shorten its lifespan over time, but it’s okay if you keep it plugged in while playing.
Best Practice:
Play while plugged in: This is the best way to avoid battery wear and keep your laptop running well.
Avoid deep discharges: Don’t let the battery go under 20-30% often.
Battery Care Tips:
Charge between 50-80% if you're not using the battery much.
Keep it cool: Avoid overheating by using it on a flat surface and possibly using a cooling pad during gaming.
Gaming Performance:
Hollow Knight is a light game, so it won’t strain your laptop much, but always plug it in during long gaming sessions to keep performance steady.
In short: It’s fine to game, just plug it in while you’re playing, and avoid letting the battery get too low. This will help your battery last longer!
