So when I bought this computer it worked out fine. But now when I try to click on the DvD RW Drive(which is on the left column in the picture below) button it pops up a tab saying "Please insert disc into drive"(which is the second picture below)

and also when i right click on it, it only shows me stuff that isn't important.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Step 1: Confirm if the disc is causing the issue. ...
  • Step 2: Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter. ...
  • Step 3: Test the drive for a hardware failure. ...
  • Step 4: Check the drive status in Device Manager. ...
  • Step 5: Enable AutoPlay. ...
  • Step 6: Restore the PC to an earlier state.

Please follow the document in order to perform the above troubleshooting steps: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03280768

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I tried to perform the test on the optical drive from the startup menu but it does not recognize that it is a drive, however the computer recognizes that it is a drive. But when I insert a disc It does not recognize that there is a disc in there. So I cannot test the drive for hardware failure due to it not recognizing the optical media. And I have also checked its status on the device manager and it says that it's working properly, And I did your autoplay step and it didn't work, And I have already mentioned on my post that its not the disc, and that I have already ran troubleshooter. So unless you have any other suggestions than we may have to enable a factory reset. If there are any other suggestions, please do tell.
