HP Recommended

So I recently had root beer accidentally getting inside the laptop and when I opened it up there was a puddle of it on the battery.  So I cleaned the inside with rubbing alcohol and letting it to dry. I attempted to started it after cleaning and putting it together, and I only heard beeping and the lights flashing and the screen won't turn on. I've tried everything and nothing, so I'm wondering if I need to replace the battery or what to do, anyone plz help.
