Hello everyone, first things first my English is not that good so i hope you understand what i say. So first of all this laptop is not mine my dad found it in Germany in the streets and everything is working fine expect some drivers that i cannot install. I found out that the fingerprint scanner does not work and i cannot install the driver, my big issue is that i cannot enter BIOS because there is an Administrator BIOS Password and i'm pretty sure there is a setting in the BIOS for the fingerprint scanner, is there any way i can make the fingerprint scanner work? I don't think so. My only way to make it work is to unlock the BIOS and enable the setting for the fingerprint scanner. Thank you

Hi:

If the BIOS P/W is not allowing you to enable the fingerprint sensor, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That was the only way it could be done.

HP issued this document recently...

Also the forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with removing passwords.

Rule 4.d...

Going back to our discussion this morning regarding the WWAN card, the BIOS P/W may not allow you to install the card either, so I would not recommend putting any money into the notebook, and just use it as is.

Oh no that's not good, good thing that you told me about our previous conversation that it won't work when i'll buy the WWAN Card, so definitely i won't buy it now, thanks for the help
