hi, I’m on omen 15 laptop product number 455C8UA#ABA. My GPU Rtx 3060 mobile use to draw 100W but now it’s only draw 50-60W while gaming or doing intensive task which slower my performance. Is it my 200W charger limitation that keep my GPU running low on W, and will upgrading 230W charger will fix my problem?

@Andrew492, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your GPU's power draw

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It seems like your GPU's power draw has decreased, potentially affecting game performance on your OMEN 15 laptop. While it's possible to consider whether the power supply could be a factor, there are also other considerations that might impact GPU performance:

Charger Capacity: Your current charger is rated at 200W, which is generally sufficient for typical operation, including gaming, for most gaming laptops with similar components. Upgrading to a 230W charger might provide a slightly higher power capacity, but it is possible that the issue is related to other factors rather than the charger capacity itself.

Power Settings: Ensure that your laptop's power settings are optimized for performance rather than power-saving. Check these settings in Windows and within the OMEN Gaming Hub if available, as this could limit the power the GPU receives.

Driver Updates: Confirm that you have the latest graphics drivers and Windows updates installed. These updates often include performance enhancements and bug fixes that can impact GPU behavior.

Thermal Throttling: If your system is overheating, it may throttle the GPU to prevent damage, leading to reduced power draw. Ensure your laptop has adequate cooling and consider cleaning any vents or using a cooling pad to improve airflow.

Battery and Power Management: Operating on battery power often reduces performance to save energy. Ensure you are plugged in when gaming. Additionally, check battery health if you've recently experienced power issues.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
