Based on your model number, HP part 710412-001 is the AC adapter that comes with it. I would suggest checking the voltage on it with a multi meter, check the fit of the power jack on the laptop also. If the plug has been yanked around during it's life, the jack on the laptop gets destroyed. In my experience, it's 50/50 jack or adapter in cases like this. Could also be the charging circuit in the laptop.
