Hi @Atul55

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Oh no—that sounds stressful, and I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this. When water gets into the charging port, it can cause short circuits or corrosion that interfere with the power delivery system.

The blinking charging light is often a warning that something isn’t functioning properly, especially around the battery or power input.

Here’s what you can try to gently troubleshoot the issue:

🧼 Step 1: Unplug and Power Down Immediately

  • Disconnect the charger and power off the laptop.
  • If possible, remove the battery (if it’s not sealed).
  • This helps prevent further electrical damage.

🧪 Step 2: Let It Dry Thoroughly

  • Place the laptop in a dry, ventilated area for at least 48 hours.
  • Avoid using a hairdryer or heat source—just let it air out.
  • You can place it in a container with silica gel packets or uncooked rice to absorb moisture.

🔍 Step 3: Inspect the Charging Port

  • Once dry, check the port for visible corrosion or residue.
  • If you see any, gently clean it with a soft brush and 99% isopropyl alcohol.
  • Let it dry again before reconnecting power.

🔄 Step 4: Try a Different Charger

  • If you have access to another compatible HP charger, test it.
  • A damaged adapter or cable can also trigger blinking lights.

🧰 Step 5: Run a Battery Diagnostic (if it powers on)

If the laptop turns on:

📦 Step 6: Check for BIOS or Firmware Updates

If the laptop powers on and charges intermittently:

If the blinking persists or the laptop won’t power on at all, it’s possible the charging circuit or motherboard has been affected. In that case, I’d recommend visiting a service center for a full inspection.

Let me know how it goes or if you’d like help finding a nearby repair option. You’re doing the right thing by acting quickly! 💪💧
