HP Pavilion g4-1065la Notebook PC

Hello, thank you very much in advance for any help you can give me,
My Hp pavilion g4 laptop Serial No. CNF1141TMR AND Product No. LM754LA #AMB suddenly turns off by itself, I already turned it on with a hard drive, RAM, fan, WLAN card, etc. different to rule out that any hardware component was damaged, but it still generally continues to turn off 20 minutes after being turned on. I had already lost hope since I also did an excellent cleaning but the problem continued. until one day I turned on my laptop again in the hope of finding a solution, which I did not find, but I finally found, after so much research, the origin of the problem, that day my laptop worked wonderfully, but the next day it did not, and the next day yes, then I wondered what was different about the days when it worked from the days when it didn't and I realized that on the days when the laptop worked normally I had a table fan on to cool me down, but that Apparently my laptop also loved my fan, and I didn't understand why, since my laptop's fan works without problems, and the temperature of my laptop does not usually go above 75 degrees according to the speedfan, core temp software, among others. I finally discovered that if my laptop goes above just 60 degrees Celsius, it automatically turns off, which seems abnormal to me, since in the past it could even reach 85 degrees in very heavy workloads and it would not turn off. Finally, in a forum I read that Intel processors have an overheating protection system, which consisted of reaching a certain temperature, the processor sent a signal to an integrated circuit, I believe, and this in turn cut off the flow of current. , which I have noticed, since whenever my laptop turns off by itself, the LED that is right next to the charging port also turns off, which is always on even if the laptop is off, as long as the laptop is plugged into the outlet.
So in summary,
the problem: my laptop's overheating protection system is activating at 60 degrees Celsius, which is more than confirmed, since I am sure that there is no type of damage to either the hardware components or the motherboard, since I just bought a 12 volt and 0.9 amp fan which is powerful, but too noisy and annoying to install, since it is too tall (5 cm) and therefore I have to put several books next to and next to my laptop. being able to put the fan underneath, right in a ventilation grill that faces the RAM and the edge of the processor.
The question: How can I reset or reconfigure my processor's overheat protection system so that it shuts down at 100 degrees Celsius and not at 60 as is happening now.

Hi @RJ8810,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing a unit-making noise issue with your HP Pavilion g4 laptop suddenly turning off. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

Please try the following Troubleshoots steps.

1.    Turn off the Unit.

2.    Disconnect the AC adapter.

3.    Remove any discs from the disc drive.

4.    Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.

5.    Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.

6.    Disconnect the AC adapter press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds.

7.    Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.

Step 2

Turn off the unit and please press and hold the Windows key + letter B key and the power button together for 30 seconds after 30 seconds, 1st release the power button but keep holding the Windows key and B key for ten more seconds and then release these two keys If done correctly, you will see the display flashing once. Please attempt it thrice as this step and Restart the unit

Step3

The unit has to be turned off, Press Win+ V while holding these two keys then Press the Power button, continue to hold all three keys for 30 seconds and then release the Power button first and then release these two keys Please attempt it thrice  and then you may get a Pop-Up CMOS Check and it will restart the unit

Even if you don't get a Pop-up restart the unit manually after 3 attempts.

Restart the unit

Check for windows and HP updates are up to date

Step#1 Adjust the computer power settings -

1) In the search box, type and open Control Panel.

2) In the Control Panel search field, type power options, and then select Power Options from the list.

3) Click on Change plan settings.

4) Click the drop-down menu, and then select Power Saver.

5) Select Sleep from the list, and then click Sleep after and Hibernate after to open each set.

9) Decrease the amount of time for each setting to reduce unnecessary strain on the fans when the computer is not being used.

10) Click OK to save the changes and then restart the computer.

Step#2 Clean the air vents -

Dust and debris can accumulate in and around the air vents over time, obstructing the airflow and causing the fans to work harder than normal to remove the heat.

1) Turn off the computer.

2) Remove any objects near the computer.

3) Use a vacuum to remove the dust from the vents underneath and on the sides of the computer.

4) Turn the computer on, and then place it on a hard, level surface, such as a desk or table.

Step#3 Increase the efficiency to reduce heat -

The computer works harder and generates more heat when multiple applications are open at the same time or while playing graphically intense video games.

Use the following tips to improve computer efficiency:

  • Change which applications run when Windows starts by using the Startup tab in Task Manager.
  • Close applications when you are done using them.
  • Close the internet browser when you are not using it.
  • Lower the game resolution and decrease the graphics settings if the computer becomes warmer than usual while playing.

Step#4 Use Task Manager to identify corrupt processes -

1) Make sure your computer is connected to a network with an active Internet connection.

2) Press Ctrl, Alt, Delete, and then select Start Task Manager or Task Manager.

3) Click More details, if necessary.

4) Click the Processes tab, and then click the CPU column header to sort the processes by CPU load.

5) Use the Internet to research and confirm any suspicious processes that are displayed in the list.

6) Select the suspicious process, and then click End task.
