HP Recommended

My laptop only works when its plugged in, its stuck at one battery percentage and it doesnt charge. But a few days ago it was 38% now 27%.When i check the light below the part where you plug in the charger the light shows white even though its not fully charged please help me if possible, i dont have any money to replace the battery yet but i just wanna know if theres a fix or if it really needs to be replaced/repaired.
