When I run intel driver update it keeps saying that it is unable to scan my device. I unloaded the app and redownloaded it and I did the windows repair install and when I did SFC in safe mode it said I had corrupted files. I thought that reinstalling windows with the repair version would have taken care of any corrupted files. I have been using intel assistant for years and have never had any issues with it. OS build 26200.8246 25H 2

Hi @Bynk,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  it must be to see Intel Driver & Support Assistant fail to scan your device, especially since you’ve relied on it for years without issues. Thank you for sharing the details about your OS build and the steps you’ve already tried  that helps narrow things down

Could you please confirm the exact HP model you’re using ?

Here are a few  steps you can try :

01.Run Windows Update

Ensures your system files and drivers are up to date before Intel’s tool scans.

Go to Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates

Install all pending updates

Restart your PC after updates complete

02.Repair System Files

Corrupted files can prevent Intel Assistant from scanning correctly.

Open Command Prompt (Admin)

Run sfc /scannow

Restart your PC

03.Check Intel Services

Background services must be running for the tool to work.

Press Win + R → type services.msc

Locate Intel Driver & Support Assistant Service

Ensure it is set to Automatic and is running

Restart the service if needed

04.Try HP Support Assistant

HP’s own tool can detect and update drivers specific to your model.

Download from HP.com → Support → Software & Drivers

Install HP Support Assistant

Run a full scan for updates

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
