I have had this HP Omen laptop since December of 2020 and recently I am being driven mad because my HP Omen laptop keeps discharging every few days. Most of the time it remains at full charge but sometimes when I get ready to work it somehow is charging. When I boot up, I find out that the battery drops to 94%. It takes 20 minutes or so to fully charge. To make it worse, it all began due to a little accident. I accidentally inserted a 45w charger into it which I quickly switched back. It was only for a split second or two and plus it wasnt powered on. But then suddenly I notice not only my laptop battery discharging while plugged in but also my laptop battery’s full charge capacity draining. Its getting me riled up since I did battery reports and it just fluctuated. Yes, I have advanced battery optimizer at enabled/activated by default.
its driving me mad and I wish I can get some answers. Oh and I plan to get an HP Care Pack so that maybe, just maybe HP can replace the battery. It sucks but what can you do. I only use it in short bursts and when I finish, I just disconnect it and that is that.
Hope to get answers when possible.

Excellent description and a great diagnosis. It is greatly appreciated.
