HP 15-e1000 Laptop PC IDS Base Model

My laptop battery will not charge past 66 percent even when plugged in overnight. I tried shutting it down and restarting and unplugging the power cord, replugging, etc. I checked the HP help and was advised that the battery requires calibration. However, this requires the battery to be 100 percent charged and mine won't reach 100 percent. Is it okay to run calibration with it only at 66 percent charge? Thank you so much!

yes, you can run the calibration program.

It might be useful to run the battery report before and after the calibration
you run the battery report by bringing up the administrator command window and running

powercfg/batteryreport

as shown below

After entering that explorer line you should see something like the following. You will have to click on it as it is long

You can use the WindowsKey + shift + S to copy and paste a small image if you want.
Battery should last about 5 years but less for gaming systems.

Rename the battery report so you can compare after doing the calibration.
