HP ENVY 16 inch Laptop PC 16-h1000 (754F7AV)

I have bought a brand new HP Envy 16-1023dx laptop featuring the NVIDIA RTX 4060 8 GB but after updating the BIOS & some drivers, it's not being detected by my PC.

Hi @TF_3 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're encountering an issue where your HP Envy 16-1023dx laptop is not detecting the NVIDIA RTX 4060 8GB graphics card after updating the BIOS and some drivers. Here's a step-by-step approach to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Check BIOS Settings: Re-enter the BIOS to ensure that the graphics card is enabled. Sometimes, BIOS updates reset settings to default, which might disable or change the configuration for discrete graphics cards.

Reinstall Graphics Drivers:

  • Uninstall the current NVIDIA drivers from your system. You can do this through the Device Manager or using a tool like DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).
  • Once uninstalled, download the latest drivers for your NVIDIA RTX 4060 from the official NVIDIA website. Ensure you select the driver that matches your Windows version.
  • Install the drivers and restart your computer.

Update Chipset Drivers: Sometimes, updating the chipset drivers can resolve compatibility issues. Check the HP website for the latest chipset drivers for your laptop model and install them.

Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows OS is up to date. Sometimes, specific patches and updates can fix hardware detection issues.

Revert BIOS Update: If none of the above steps work, consider reverting to an older version of the BIOS. This should be done with caution, as incorrectly updating or downgrading BIOS can harm your system. Check the HP website for instructions specific to your model. Click Here

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
