Welcome to the HP Community --
Some Elitebooks come with the required WWAN Broadband module.
What?
WWAN is an optional purchase.
Not every computer has a WWAN module.
The SIM card is useless without the WWAN module.
What?
You need both the WWAN Broadband module AND the SIM card that connects to your network carrier account
What is the WWAN module?
The module is the hardware you need to support the SIM card that has your network carrier account.
Find your Elitebook's website support pages:
Enter the device type and model name of your HP product
Open Category Setup & User Guides
Find and Open your Maintenance and Service Guide
Search for WWAN
If your computer supports the WWAN module,
(then)
The WWAN part number, a description, and even the replacement procedure is included in the manual.
Next,
Find the WWAN in your computer's Device Manager
If the computer has the WWAN network module installed inside the computer, it will be listed in the Device Manager
Use the Device Manager to find / display information about an installed WWAN module.
Example – Control Panel access to Device Manager
Control Panel > icon view > Device Manager
Tab View
Select View by action types
Check Show hidden devices
Select Drivers by type
Expand section Network Adapters
Find LT / LTE in list – Note that your module, if listed, might have a different name.
Right-Click on the module > Properties
----------------------
Use Settings > Network & internet to display information about an installed SIM card.
----------------------
Example - Device Manager -
Left side of sample: WWAN module // Settings
Right Side of sample: Network & Internet SIM card information

If you have the WWAN module in the computer,
If you want to check for the Driver,
Open your website support page: HP Product Home
Open Category Software and Drivers
Open the webpage with Operating System / version and your Drivers
Check in the section for Network Drivers
Look for the driver for WWAN
