My Hp victus laptop used to only work with the charger plugged in, but now does not show any signs of it charging even while plugged in and does not turn on at all anymore. I’ve tried hard resetting it and using different sockets. My charger and laptop were working fine yesterday (apart from turning off while not being plugged in)

Ryzen 5 CPU

512 GB SSD

RTX 3050 GPU

8GB RAM

Hi @74ajoon,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Power Supply and Connections:

  • Ensure the charger is plugged into a working outlet.
  • Inspect the charger and cables for any damage or loose connections.

Remove External Devices:

  • Disconnect all peripherals and accessories connected to the laptop, including USB devices, external monitors, and AC adapters.

Battery Check:

  • Try removing the battery (if it’s removable) and then reinserting it.

Hard Reset:

  • Perform a hard reset by unplugging the charger and removing the battery (if removable), then press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Reconnect the charger and try turning on the laptop.

Inspect for Damage:

  • Check for any visible signs of damage on the laptop itself, like cracks or dents which may affect its operation.

Attempt BIOS Access:

  • Check if the laptop shows any signs of life by trying to access the BIOS. Normally, you can do this by repeatedly pressing a specific key (like F10, F12, or ESC) immediately after powering it on.

Try a Different Charger:

  • If possible, use a different compatible charger to determine if the charger is faulty.

I hope this helps.
