Hi @Kianki1387,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Omen 16 laptop won't turn on and shows no vital signs except for occasional behavior when plugging in the charger (like the charging light turning on or the screen going blank), the issue might be related to the power system, motherboard, or other critical components. Here’s how you can troubleshoot.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect everything: Unplug the charger and remove all connected peripherals (like USB devices, external monitors, etc.).
- Press and hold the power button: Hold it for 30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the charger and try to turn it on again.
Check the Power Adapter
- Verify that the charging light turns on when you plug in the charger.
- If possible, use a compatible charger to rule out a problem with your adapter.
Battery Test
- Try starting the laptop with and without the battery (if removable).
- Without the battery: Connect the charger and turn it on.
- If it works without the battery, the battery may need replacement.
Check the Screen
- Sometimes, the laptop might turn on but not display anything. Check for signs of life, like fan noise or keyboard backlight.
- Connect the laptop to an external monitor to ensure the issue isn’t with the display.
Perform a BIOS Recovery
If the screen occasionally shows signs of life but fails to boot:
- Power off the laptop completely.
- Press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press the power button for 2-3 seconds while still holding Windows + B.
- Release the keys and see if the BIOS recovery starts.
Inspect for Physical Damage
- Check for any visible signs of damage around the power port, hinges, or screen.
- If you recently spilled liquid or dropped the laptop, internal damage may be causing the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
