Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,
Recently my laptop has started malfunctioning. Windows does not boot! when I enter setup (bios) I can't see my HDD. Sometimes it's there and sometimes not. When the hdd is detected and run diagnose by pressing F2, it shows Hard drive is working fine. And sometimes when hdd is not detected it shows: run diagnose by press F2 and when I press it try to run diagnose it shows no HDD. I cant see my drive. Also I reset bios to default but still it wasn't showing. but after restarting 5 to 8 times it's started showing HDD and boot windows.

I would like to know that my Hard disk is faulty or the problem is with motherboard. and how to diagnose my laptop properly to find where exactly the problem is.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue, this sounds like loose SATA connector.

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly let's run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629

If this fails, I would request you to contact our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance. Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
