I would suggest to search by HP part number, I cannot gaurantee that any part other than HP part surely work. But I think what you suggested should work. No promises.

Go through page 2 in the manual, upto 8gb max upgradeable. Get exact configuration, speed, voltage module as given in manual.

i download teh manual but i found nothing usfull on page 2 and the manual  have 148 page i can't read them all for just a cpu 😞 ...

so as u said i can use this CPU : http://www.ebay.com/itm/252302154900 with this board : HP Pavilion DV6-3000 Intel Laptop Motherboard s988 31LX6MB00U0 615281-001 ?

 

and the last think recommend me 2X8gb ram working with my board on ebay to buy them 😄 and thenk u very much :d

Up to 8gb max is what board and processor supports.
