Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

Microsoft Windows 11

My laptop's fans run at high speed almost all of the time, and sometimes I get a black error screen stating there is a problem with the cooling. The fans go at max speed independent of the CPU temperatures.

I have ensured 'fans always on' is off and made sure I have updated my laptop fully.

Can someone please help!

That is usually either a BIOS issue, a cooling  fan problem or dust bunnies in the laptop enclosure causing it.

You said that your notebook is fully updated. Which BIOS is currently installed?

I have definitely thoroughly cleaned out the fans and the vents on the laptop.

I am currently running F.06 I think (running bios.get smbiosbiosversion on cmd), so this looks out of date!

I will go ahead and install the new version and get back to you!

Here is the link.
Be sure that your notebook is plugged in when you do the update and remember there is always a bit of a risk updating the BIOS.

I managed to update the bios (it ended up doing bios recovery, but its now showing as F.18, so i think its okay!)

The fan is still really loud though 😞

Try a free fan control utility.

Watch the temperatures on the processor!

Your notebook's Intel® Core™ i7-1065G7 should not get within ten degrees of 100 deg C.

The black screen with the error message is a warning that there may be an issue with the fan(s) and eventually cleaning or replacement may be necessary.
