Hi @DONCRN ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 isn't turning on and there's no indication that it's charging, it could be due to several possible causes. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps:
May I know
- Since when are you facing this issue
- Have you made any changes on your PC post that this issue raised
- Could you please elaborate on the issue?
- May I know when you purchase this unit?
- Do You see a light glowing on the power button and next to the charging Port?
- Do you see a HP logo when you try to turn on the unit and then the screen goes blank or blue screen, If Blue screen Have observed any error message? Or the unit is not turning On at all
1. Check the Power Source and Charger:
- Confirm the outlet works by plugging in another device to the same socket.
- Inspect the charger for damage (frayed cables, broken adapter). If available, try using another compatible charger.
- Test with a different power outlet to ensure the issue isn’t with the socket itself.
2. Perform a Hard Reset:
- Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if it's removable).
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the charger (without the battery, if removable) and try turning the laptop on again.
3. Check for Battery LED Behavior:
- If the battery light doesn’t turn on or blinks in a specific pattern, this can give clues about the issue:
- Solid white light: Indicates the battery is fully charged or working properly.
- Flashing amber or no light: Could indicate a charging problem or battery failure.
4. Inspect for Physical Damage:
- Check for any visible damage to the charging port, such as bent or loose connectors.
- Ensure the charger is fully inserted into the port.
5. Reset the BIOS (if applicable):
- If the laptop shows no signs of life but previously worked, performing a BIOS reset could help.
- Hold down the Windows + B keys while pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds to attempt a BIOS recovery.
