Laptop plastic frame melting

If your laptop is getting hot enough to melt the plastic you have an overheating issue. I'm surprised the laptop doesn't shut down before it gets that hot to protect the internal components. Pick up a can of compressed air and blow out all of the ports, vents and openings in the case to ensure good airflow. If that doesn't help you probably need to take it to someone who can open it up and clean inside and  apply new thermal paste.
