I have purchased HP 15s DU3519TX laptop on 2022 November. From the purchase date, I am only getting a battery backup of maximum 2 hours. Let me give the complete test conditions done by me.
Standby backup time : 5 hours (max)
Working Condition : 1hr 43 mins - 2 hrs. (max)
Multitasking : 1hr 32 mins (max)
This is the battery backup time that I am getting in my HP 15s DU3519TX laptop.
The website says it will last for 9 hours, but I am not getting at least 3 hours of backup...

Hi @Albin_Shaji,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP 15s laptop's battery is lasting for only 1 hour and 45 minutes (01:45 hrs) and you're not getting sufficient backup, there are several potential causes and solutions to consider.
- Adjust power settings: Make sure your laptop's power settings are optimized for battery life. Reduce screen brightness, enable power-saving mode, and set the timeout for the display and hard drive to conserve power.
- Close unnecessary programs and processes: Running multiple programs and processes simultaneously can drain your battery quickly. Close any unnecessary applications and background processes that may be consuming power.
- Check for power-hungry applications: Some applications, particularly resource-intensive ones like games or media players, can significantly impact battery life. Monitor the task manager or activity monitor to identify any power-hungry applications and close them when not in use.
- Disable startup programs: Some programs launch automatically when you start your laptop, consuming battery power in the background. Disable unnecessary startup programs to conserve battery life.
- Update drivers and software: Outdated drivers and software can sometimes lead to increased power consumption. Ensure that you have the latest drivers and software updates from the HP support website or through HP's software update utility.
- Reduce wireless and connectivity usage: Activities such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular data usage can drain your battery. If not needed, disable or limit these connections to extend battery life.
- Check for background tasks and services: Certain background tasks and services can consume power even when you're not actively using your laptop. Check for any unnecessary background tasks or services and disable or remove them.
- Replace the battery: If your laptop is older or has been heavily used, the battery may have degraded over time. In such cases, consider replacing the battery with a new one.
- Adjust battery performance settings: Some laptops have built-in battery management software that allows you to adjust battery performance settings. Check if your laptop has such software and customize the settings to maximize battery life.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
