Hi @Teja06,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC's touchpad isn't working and the I2C driver has a warning sign in Device Manager, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue.

Update or Reinstall the Touchpad Driver

  • Open Device Manager: Right-click the Start menu and select "Device Manager."
  • Locate the I2C Driver: Find the device with the warning sign (often under "Mice and other pointing devices" or "System devices").
  • Update Driver: Right-click the device and select "Update driver." Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."
  • Reinstall Driver: If updating doesn't work, right-click the device again, select "Uninstall device," then restart your laptop. Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.

Check for Windows Updates

  • Open Settings: Go to "Start" > "Settings" (or press Win + I).
  • Update & Security: Click on "Update & Security" and then "Check for updates."
  • Install Updates: Make sure your system is up-to-date with the latest updates, including any optional drivers.

Check Touchpad Settings

  • Open Settings: Go to "Start" > "Settings" > "Devices" > "Touchpad."
  • Enable Touchpad: Ensure the touchpad is enabled and check the sensitivity and other settings.

Run Hardware Troubleshooter

  • Open Settings: Go to "Start" > "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot."
  • Additional Troubleshooters: Click on "Additional troubleshooters" and run the troubleshooter for "Hardware and Devices."

Check BIOS/UEFI Settings

  • Restart Your Laptop: Enter the BIOS/UEFI settings by pressing the appropriate key during boot (often F2, F10, ESC, or DEL).
  • Check Touchpad Settings: Look for touchpad settings in the BIOS/UEFI and ensure it's enabled.

Perform a System Restore

  • Open Control Panel: Search for "Control Panel" in the Start menu.
  • System: Go to "System and Security" > "System."
  • System Protection: Click on "System Protection" in the left pane and then "System Restore." Follow the prompts to restore to a previous point where the touchpad was working.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
