My laptop won’t charge so I removed the battery, unfortunately this one doesn’t have any specific number/serial on it. I guess the original one was previously removed to this current one which barely lasted 1 month and now I’ve removed it too. My question is why did the current battery just work 1 month and what battery would this laptop take:

HP Pavilion Generation 8

Model 15-cu000STX

ProdId 4CCO3PA#UUF

S/N# [edited]

RMN:TPN-Q209

Thank you so much for your help!

Hi @pictoruta,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that your laptop is experiencing charging issues. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot why your HP laptop may not be charging:

Perform a Visual Inspection

  1. Check the Charging Port: Ensure there is no physical damage or debris in the charging port.

  2. Inspect the Charger: Look for any visible damage to the charging cable or adapter.

Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Power Off the Laptop: Shut down your laptop completely.

  2. Remove the Battery (if applicable): If your laptop has a removable battery, take it out.

  3. Press the Power Button: Hold it for about 15 seconds to discharge any remaining power.

  4. Reconnect the Battery and Charger: Plug the laptop back into the power source and see if it charges.

Verify Battery and Charger Status

  • Battery Indicator Light: Check if any charging indicator lights are on. A blinking amber light might indicate a low battery, while a solid amber light indicates charging.

  • Try Another Power Outlet: Sometimes, the issue can be with the outlet itself. Try a different one.

Test the Battery and Charger

If possible, test your battery or charger on another compatible HP laptop to rule out faults with either component. Alternatively, try a different charger if you have access to one.

Update BIOS and Drivers

Ensure that your laptop's BIOS and drivers are up to date. You can perform updates by visiting HP Support - Software and Driver Downloads for the latest updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
