My laptop model 15-dy2131wm won't turn on. I used it yesterday and then shut it down. I picked it back up last night to use it and it wouldn't turn on. I plugged it in and let it charge.
It still will not turn on. I can see the indicator light while it is plugged in.
Help!

@HoneyMom2, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Let's walk through a step-by-step checklist to get your HP Laptop 15-dy2131wm powering back on.
- Basic Hard Reset This clears out any static power that may be causing a startup block.
- Unplug the charger.
- Hold down the power button for at least 15 seconds.
- Plug the charger back in.
- Try powering it on again.
- Check the Power Button Light and Fan Sounds When pressing the power button, do you see any flickers, hear fan noise, or keyboard backlight activity (if it has one)?
- If yes but the screen is black, we may be dealing with a display issue.
- If no signs of life, keep going.
- Try a Key Combo Reset (Windows + B) HP laptops support a BIOS recovery key combo that might wake it.
- Plug in the charger.
- Hold Windows + B and then press and hold the power button for ~5–10 seconds.
- Release the power button but keep holding Windows + B for a few seconds.
- Watch the screen or listen for any beeps or fan noise.
- External Monitor Test Connect it to an external display via HDMI and try to power it on. If the external monitor shows output, the internal screen might be the issue.
- Battery Disconnect (if removable/internal battery reset pinhole) Unfortunately, the 15-dy2131wm has an internal battery, but if you're comfortable opening the back panel:
- Disconnect the battery from the motherboard.
- Hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Reconnect and try again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
