My Windows key is not working. It happens every 2-3 months, and it gives me a headache. Please provide me with a permanent solution.

Hi @AniketPatil,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the Windows key on your Victus By HP 15.6 Inch Gaming Laptop is not working regularly, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Restart your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix minor software glitches that might be causing the Windows key to malfunction.
- Check for Physical Damage: Make sure there is no physical damage to the keyboard or the Windows key itself. Sometimes, dust or debris can accumulate underneath the key and cause it to not function properly.
- Update Keyboard Drivers: Outdated or corrupted keyboard drivers can lead to functionality issues. Go to the Device Manager, find the keyboard driver, and try updating or reinstalling it.
- Check for Software Conflicts: Some software applications can interfere with keyboard functionality. Try booting your laptop in Safe Mode and see if the Windows key works there. If it does, this indicates that a third-party application might be causing the problem.
- Use On-Screen Keyboard: As a temporary workaround, you can use the on-screen keyboard to access the Windows key functionality. To do this, search for "On-Screen Keyboard" in the Start menu.
- Run System File Checker: The System File Checker (SFC) tool can scan and repair corrupted system files that might be causing issues. Open a Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command "sfc /scannow".
- Perform a System Restore: If the problem started recently, you can try using System Restore to revert your laptop to a point in time when the Windows key was functioning properly.
- Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your operating system is up to date. Sometimes, updates can fix bugs and improve system stability.
- Check for Malware: Malware or viruses can also cause keyboard issues. Run a thorough scan with your preferred antivirus software.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
