My machine is a Presario CQ42 Pentium T4500 i would like to know which betterprocessor i can upgrade

If you have the UMA video models 100-149 then you have the GL40 chipset which means you already have the top compatible processor. If you have the discrete model or the 150-199 model it has the HM55 Express chipset and can take up to an i7-620M. Try running Speccy or another specification tool to see which chipset is in your motherboard.

If your notebook has the Mobile Intel GL40 chipset, you can also install the Pentium T9500, T9300 or the T6600.

Then you can install any of the 3 processors I posted the other day, or any of the Pentium processors with an 800 MHz FSB such as the T8300, T8100, or T6400,

The motherboard number you posted is immaterial.

 

It's got a GL40 chipset.

 

That's all you need to know.

 

That chipset only supports Pentium processors with a maximum FSB speed of 800 MHz.
