HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 (2J4W0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

My new HP Laptop 15s-eq2510sa  ( Serial Number  [Personal Information Removed]  ,  Product Number  4J6H1EA  ) was purchased from Currys UK Late November 21, shortly before Black Friday and Cyber Monday on promotion of those events , but it was first used after given as a present at  Christmas 2021 ) with Windows 10 already pre installed before purchase .

On purchase it was advertised as suitable and compatible for upgrade to Windows 11 , further checks with the supplier indicated it was capable to be upgraded.

Early February 2022 , Windows Update indicated it was able to be Upgraded to Windows 11 , which was subsequently done , and since then there is NO SOUND produced by this device  AT ALL , and troubleshooting results indicate there are No Speakers or Sound Output Hardware Devices Installed At All  ( however it had been fine with with Windows 10 ) .

Can anyone help me at all , or point me in the right direction  Pleeeeze !  Suggestions  very welcome,

Thanks  Polly .

Thanks so much for advice , unfortunately still messing about and tinkering , tried your suggestions and downloaded and installed , in the order you suggested Bios update first , then separately the sound drivers, but so far has not solved the issue , tried variations of uninstalling then reinstalling the output devices , then same checking the drivers and multiple restarts overall , but still not getting there.

Your suggestion was very similar to one I later received after yours, from HP Customer Technical Support ,

A HP Diagnostics Software test caused the speakers to make sound and they ' passed ' the test and I heard the 'notes' I needed to , but then when reverted from the Diagnostic Test Environment to real use of the machine, it still made NO SOUND AT ALL .

beginning to get fed up and desperate now and considering rolling back to Windows 10

, but that smells of a Sledgehammer to Crack a Nut .

There must be a simple solution out there , and its probably very simple , but so far eludes all attempts for me to solve .

If you have any other suggestions I will certainly give them a try.

Thanks Polly

I haven't updated to 11 yet, there were too many nitpicky changes that I  personally didn't prefer. Some of those, mainly the new taskbar, are being addressed. For you, I've noticed quite a few driver issues here in this forum with 11. I don't mind waiting out the first year or so until everything gets sorted out. Nothing wrong with 10, it's still supported for over 4 years.

All I have are suggestions, like try rolling back the sound driver, or even installing the 10 driver here- https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp105001-105500/sp105445.exe
