Hi @Mehtab23,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion x360 2-in-1 Laptop with the model number "14-ek0xxx" is only lasting 3 hours on a fully charged battery, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some common factors that could affect the battery life.
- Battery Health: Over time, laptop batteries can degrade, which may result in reduced capacity and shorter battery life. If your laptop is relatively old, it's possible that the battery's health has declined.
- Background Processes: Certain background processes or applications running on your laptop could be consuming more power, leading to reduced battery life. Make sure to close unnecessary programs or background tasks when you're not using them.
- Brightness and Display Settings: High display brightness, along with other display settings like higher resolutions and refresh rates, can drain the battery faster. Lowering the brightness and adjusting other display settings may help improve battery life.
- Power-hungry Applications: Certain applications or tasks, like video editing, gaming, or other resource-intensive activities, can consume more power and significantly reduce battery life.
- Battery Saver Settings: Check if your laptop has a battery saver mode and ensure it is enabled. This mode can help extend battery life by limiting certain performance aspects.
- Malware or Viruses: Malware or viruses can cause increased processor and network activity, leading to higher power consumption. Ensure your laptop is protected with up-to-date antivirus software.
- Windows Updates: Sometimes, Windows updates can affect power management settings and battery performance. Make sure your operating system is up to date.
- Battery Calibration: Occasionally, recalibrating the battery can help improve its accuracy in reporting charge levels. To do this, allow your battery to fully discharge, then charge it to 100% without interruption.
- Power-hungry Peripherals: Connected peripherals, such as external hard drives or gaming accessories, can draw additional power from the laptop, reducing battery life.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
