My touchpad on my laptop will freeze, and the cursor will stop moving or jump around my screen. I have been having this problem for about a week, and I have tried all of the steps on the Chromebook help page. I have restarted my laptop multiple times, wiped off the keyboard 7 times with alcohol wipe, done a hard reset, pressed the Esc button multiple times, drum rolled my fingers on the touchpad for 10 seconds, and even removed all of my other accounts from the laptop and re-added them. The cursor will have issues about every 2 minutes, and sometimes it will randomly close my tabs, delete the text I am working on, or zoom in and out on the tab I am on. I have tried everything on the help page and I am not sure if it is a problem with my software. I update my computer every time I get the notifications, and I haven't downloaded any new apps lately. I have an HP Chromebook 14, and I have had it for almost 2 years. I have never had a problem with this and I am wondering how to fix it.

Welcome to HP support community.
If your touchpad stops working, try these steps:
- Make sure there is no dust or dirt on the touchpad.
- Press the Esc key several times.
- Drumroll your fingers on the touchpad for ten seconds.
- Turn your Chromebook off, then back on again.
- Perform a hard reset.
- If you have more than one account on your Chromebook, delete the account that has problems with the touchpad, then re-add the account.
I hope that helps.
