My touchpad stopped working suddenly. I checked device manager and can't even see the touchpad option, nor can I see the touchpad option under mouse settings. I reset my computer completely, and it worked for a day and disappeared again. Then I tried installing the newest synaptics touchpad driver from HP and it didn't seem to install because I still don't see it in device manager. Please help!!

You may need to do a hard reset. See the document at the link in the line below this one.

Have you entered the Control Panel --> Mouse to verify that the ClickPad is enabled?
Select static or animated icon in taskbar. This way you will see that the OS has recognized the touchpad's presence.
