@DK2802, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for reaching out, and I’m really sorry to hear about the trouble you’re facing with your HP Victus. I understand how frustrating it must be to experience crashes even with minimal usage. Let’s work together to get this resolved.

Here are some steps you can follow to diagnose and fix the issue:

Update BIOS and Drivers

Outdated BIOS or drivers can cause system instability.

  • Visit the HP Support Page - Official HP® Support
  • Enter your exact model number (e.g., "Victus 16-e0076AX")
  • Download and install the latest BIOS, chipset, graphics, and Windows drivers

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

This checks for hardware issues like RAM or SSD problems.

  • Turn off your laptop
  • Press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
  • Run System Tests > Extensive Test (takes 1–2 hours)

Check for Windows Errors

Corrupted system files can cause crashes.

  • Press Windows + X > Windows Terminal (Admin)
  • Run the following commands one by one:sfc /scannow DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Review Crash Logs

To understand what’s causing the crash:

  • Press Windows + R, type eventvwr.msc, and hit Enter
  • Go to Windows Logs > System and look for Critical or Error entries around the time of the crash

You can share the error message here if you’d like help interpreting it.

Perform a Clean Boot

This helps identify if a background app is causing the issue.

  • Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter
  • Under Services, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all
  • Go to Startup tab > Open Task Manager > Disable all startup items
  • Restart your PC and see if the issue persists

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
