You're very welcome.
BTW...I never heard of a wireless mouse actually connecting to the wireless card in the notebook.
Any wireless mouse I ever owned, had it's own USB wireless receiver you had to plug into a USB port.

Now i think its not just the HP wireless button driver, and in fact i think its not that at all. I got my hands on a cheap wired mouse. Just a normal plugnplay without any driver softwares or anything and same stuff again. But this time it doesnt say anything about HP wireless button driver. Its just the USB-receiver (not sure whats it called in english) under HID-devices thats giving me code 39.
So i figured that nothing under HID-devices work. Not sure if this helps anything but just thought that if this brings up something new to try?

Hi:
It sounds to me like there is a driver issue with the USB ports.
The problem is, there are no separate USB drivers required for W8.1, as they are included with the operating system.
I have never been able to figure out how to solve issues with the USB ports beyond W7.
You can try going to the device manager where you are getting the code 39 error, click on that device, click on uninstall, check the uninstall driver box, and restart the PC.
Other than that, the only other suggestion I can offer would be to back up any files you don't want to lose, and reinstall the operating system.
