A larger capacity NVMe SSD would not speed things up, but perhaps a different model NVME SSD might, such as the Samsung 980 (not the 980 Pro).
HP doesn't usually install the fastest SSD'S available in their PC'S.

No wonder you were wondering if you could install a NVMe SSD in your notebook.
If that is the top line of the report, that is terrible.
That is SATA SSD speeds and not even the best you could get out of a SATA SSD.
Is this the utility you ran?

A mediocre NVMe SSD should be reporting 2000 MBPs read and 1500 MBPS write on the first line of the crystadiskmark report.

You're very welcome.
You may want to consider the Samsung 980 1 TB if you are using more than half of the 256 GB SSD.
That way you will probably never run short on drive space.
Otherwise, the 500 GB model should be fine.
You may as well upgrade from the 256 GB size now and save having to do it again.
Another good choice would be the Western Digital Blue SN 570.

Yes, if this is the model you have, the specs are pretty decent.

The Samsung 980 is much faster on the write speeds though.
