HP Spectre x360 16-f0008ca
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

Does anyone know if the HP Spectre x360 16-f0008ca model supports PCIe Gen 4.0 speeds? I know the laptop comes with a 3.0 SSD, however, I'm interested to know if it's better to get a 3.0 or 4.0 SSD depending on what speeds the model supports. Thanks!

Hi, @Markle306

You can normally find the PCIe slot revision by looking at the processor specs on the Intel/AMD website as applicable.

Here are the processor specs for your notebook's i7-11390H processor.

Intel® Core™ i7-11390H Processor

As Pbroussard indicated, the processor itself is PCIe Gen 4, but the NVMe slot is Gen 3.

Look under the Expansion Options section...

Can you check Model Number again? 16-f0008ca isn't a valid Model Number.

Sorry about that, 378V0UA#ABL may be what you're looking for. If not, here are the specs:

Intel i7-11390H, 16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, 1 TB PCIe NVMe TLC M.2 SSD, 16" 3K+ (non-OLED) display, RTX 3050.

Thanks the Product ID worked. The Service Guide http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c07856708.pdf  shows they shipped with NVMe-3×4 ssd's. The Specifications https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-spectre-x360-16-inch-2-in-1-laptop-pc-16-f0000/2100677648/mo...  doesn't indicate what version either.

That generation chipset has the capabilities, I'm fairly sure. Maybe someone else has a better answer.
