HP Pavillon Laptop Model 15-eg2157ng

Hello,

I urgently need to charge my laptop, as I have an important deadline tomorrow. I'm not an expert, but as far as I understand, it’s possible to charge some laptops using third-party (non-original) chargers.

I still have a Lenovo charger (from my personal Laptop: Thinkpad E14) (Model of the charger: ADLX65YLC3D) that charges via USB-C. My HP laptop appears to have both the standard round 4.5 mm barrel connector and a USB-C port.  I was wondering if it would be safe to try charging it that way? Is there any reason why this wouldn’t work or might be dangerous?

Otherwise, I’ve also looked into original HP chargers. On Amazon Italy, I found one from the HP store, but it’s designed for other HP laptop series (not Pavilion):

HP 45W Smart AC Adapter, Compatible with HP Spectre, Elite and ProBook Notebooks, 4.5 mm to 7.4 mm Smart AC Connector, Cable Length 180 cm, Black

Would this still be compatible with my device? Are there any other non-brand or from hp itself chargers I could use to charge my Laptop?

I’ve also contacted HP Support here in Italy, and they could provide me with the correct charger and power adapter (PN 710412-001 and PN L19361-001), but it would cost €80 and would take 3–4 days to arrive – which is unfortunately too late.

Thanks for your help!

Hi @Eric__4124134

the USB-C port of the laptop is compatible with Power Delivery so it can receive charge, you must verify that the USB charger has a minimum power of 45 watts.
