Hello ,

I'm currently facing an issue with the fingerprint functionality on my HP laptop and I'm seeking assistance from fellow users who may have encountered a similar problem or have relevant knowledge to share. Unfortunately, I'm unsure whether my laptop even has a fingerprint hardware, and I'm hoping someone can help me determine that as well.

Here are the details I can provide:

HP EliteBook 840 G7
ProdiD 344G96C#ABZ

Fingerprint reader is an option, not all HP EliteBook 840 G7 machines have this option. Did you buy this option ? If you wish you can buy the following parts and install to your machine

 

Fingerprint reader part # M07206-001

  Note: The fingerprint reader cable is available in the Cable Kit as spare part number M07101-001.
