Need to replace INTERNAL BATTERY (601 trouble code).  I would love to know EXACTLY what battery to replace old one. Went to HP.COM no help, AMAZON too many choices.

It actually is the main battery for your machine which is    4-cell lithium-ion (Li-Ion), 2.8Ah, 41Wh (VI04041-CL)  part #  756743-001

Battery (old style) is N/A on HP Parts Store

You can use part # to search online from Amazon, Newegg, .... eBay.

Thanks for info you gave on EXTERNAL battery but I beleive I actually need an INTERNAL replacement battery. For an HP BEATS SPECIAL EDITION 15 NOTEBOOK PC , do you know the number for the  replacement INTERNAL battery?

Error 601 if for MAIN battery and it ONLY has one main battery. It does NOT use external battery.

Ok, thank you again for I will replace the main battery. My power cord is badly twisted, should I replace It also?

It is only few dollars, new cord i safer. BestBuy should stock one (or USA standard)  for you

I replaced the battery like you suggested and NO MORE 601 problems, Thank You so much. Now that the new battery is in place, my screen will not come on. After taking battery out and putting back in, my screen boots up. Every time I start laptop (sleep), no screen until I take out battery then put back in. This is so strange, do you know why this is?
