Need a replacement motherboard

This is an Intel CPU. I believe the motherboard needs to be replaced because I've removed the battery, RAM, Wifi card, and DVD drive, plugged it in and turned it on. Nothing happens except that the power LED lights up solid and the caps-lock long-blinks once then pauses and blinks again (it keeps doing that). I don't know what else to do except to replace the motherboard but I don't know where to buy one. This is a client's laptop, not my own. This is a Pavilion 17-e146us

For this age of laptop, the processor is separate. There is some chance your motherboard is OK, but the processor is bad.  It's a small but significant possibility and its very hard to tell the difference. Also the motherboard I listed above is duplicate of what you have but a few of the others in the Manual would also work and would provide improved graphics.

Thank you for that information. Also, I contacted the seller of that motherboard and asked if they could possibly sell me a CPU if the motherboard isn't the issue. He told me that they don't sell CPUs. Do you know where I could get an inexpensive CPU for this motherboard?

Please accept as solution if this is the info you needed. Again, this is a duplicate processor and you could upgrade to a faster one just post back for other options. Above is a very good price.
