Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

So I might have done something that could have caused a problem with my machine. I pulled it out of my shelf of laptops as its the one I goto for testing and I normally use it as a machine that sits next to me. So I pulled it ou and it would not turn on. I thought weird and started to disassemble the machine (I had tried multiple things such as removing the battery, holding the power button for thirty seconds.) Since I have this machine apart not long ago to change its HDD I thought maybe I did not plug the power button board in correctly. I reconnected the power button board and all was good. put the machine back together and nothing. So I knew something between the machine having its keyboard removed and the machine being assembled was causing the problem. I found out that the screw holding the disk drive in was causing the problem and though to test that by screwing it in while the machine was on (BIG MISTAKE). I heard a sound I did not like and pulled the plug and started to take it apart. The damage was nothing bad that I could see (See attached Pictures). So I put about 4 layers of electrical tape over it and reinstalled it into the laptop. Put everything back together and the system powered back up on battery. At this time I decided I wanted to mess around with the new Ubuntu 20.04 that was released so while I was installing it I noticed the battery icon was not showing the charge symbol. I looked at the power jack and nothing, no light. I take out the battery and plugin the charger and test to see if there is life. Light comes on and I think OK. I plug the battery in while power is connected and the light goes orange. I boot back into Ubuntu and see the percentage at 42%. I do some things to configure my OS and notice it's not rising. I think oh crap and download HP UEFI Diagnostics. I run it from a USB and have it test the power section. I got errors (See attached screenshot) about a blown fuse on the battery test. Now I can't confirm if this is really the battery or the motherboard at fault as I don't have another machine to test in. I really think its the battery and if so I will purchase a replacement. I just want to get opinions from here as there are many HP experts who probably know more about this than me. First time I have ever gotten a blown fuse error before.
